US forces struck multiple sites inside Iran overnight, with explosions reported near Bandar Abbas and the Persian Gulf island of Kish, both close to the Strait of Hormuz. Iran's Revolutionary Guard says it will retaliate today and separately claims full control of the strait, a claim US Central Command disputes. The price recovers most of Tuesday's pullback to $81.04, while tanker traffic through the Bab el-Mandeb strait has fallen 22 percent since a Houthi blockade of Saudi Arabia began July 20.
