Ottawa unveiled the package Tuesday alongside confirmation that Canada's own retaliatory tariffs on C$27.6 billion of US goods take effect September 8. The Large Enterprise Tariff Loan facility, a separate flexibility change involving no new dollars, now extends liquidity support to 36 months and loan terms to 15 years. BDC eligibility for direct tariff support now reaches companies with as little as $1 million in annual revenue, widening access for smaller Canadian-controlled private corporations navigating the same trade shock.
