Bar chart of individual TSX stocks showing gold miners and bank shares leading a Thursday rebound.

The TSX Composite gained 172.06 points Thursday, recovering less than half of Wednesday's 415.92 point drop tied to the Fed's decision and renewed Iran strikes. Gold miners led the advance as bullion firmed, with Agnico Eagle, Barrick, Wheaton Precious Metals and Franco-Nevada all higher, while all five major banks rebounded behind a 2% gain at TD. Energy names split on earnings rather than oil, with Vermilion Energy and Cenovus rising on beats while Tourmaline Oil fell on a miss, even as WTI declined for a seventh straight day.
