The S&P/TSX Composite snapped a three-session losing streak that had erased more than 900 points since its August 25 record close, as materials stocks led the rebound with a 2.6% sector gain on rallying gold and silver miners, even while the broader market weighed a second wave of U.S. strikes on Iran. The Bank of Canada's decision to hold its policy rate at 2.25% removed one source of uncertainty and added further support.
