The rate used for low-interest and family loans resets each quarter, and October bill yields will set the first quarter of 2027. At 2.39%, the 3-month yield sits inside the 2.00% to 3.00% band that keeps the rate at 3%. Because a loan keeps the rate in force on the day it is made, a loan made in early 2024 at 6% still carries 6%.
