Line chart showing WTI crude oil prices climbing after Houthi strikes on Saudi Arabian oil facilities.

Iran-aligned Houthi forces struck three Saudi Aramco facilities this week, including the 400,000-barrel-per-day Jazan refinery, which Saudi Arabia halted afterward. The attack shifted the six-month conflict's risk from a transit chokepoint that shipping can route around to production capacity that cannot simply be rerouted once damaged. The six-month price path shown here already reflects four separate round trips between the high sixties and low one hundreds since the war began in March.
