Equities priced relief after a weak September payrolls report, but Treasury yields closed higher anyway, so the bond market did not treat the miss as a reason to expect lower rates. Par yields are end-of-day readings, so these values already include the payrolls release. The miss left the yield gap between the US and Canada intact, and the currency effect of that gap has separated Canadian and US portfolio returns more than any move in the TSX.
