Two jobs reports landed minutes apart on the same Friday morning and pointed in opposite directions, with Canada shedding jobs while US hiring beat forecasts by a wide margin. The currency reaction did some of the rebalancing work, as USD/CAD weakened toward its softest level for the loonie in nearly two weeks, cushioning TSX-listed exporters exposed to a weaker Canadian dollar. Wall Street's three main indexes each fell more than 0.4 percent the same session even as the TSX Composite held roughly flat.
