The Government of Canada 10-year yield eased from 3.798 percent, its level right after the Bank of Canada's September 2 decision, as bond markets absorbed a weaker than expected August jobs report the same morning. The move runs opposite to the US 10-year Treasury, which climbed toward 4.79 percent after a much stronger American payrolls print landed within minutes of Canada's. The divergence reflects two economies pulling apart on the same day, with markets pricing a lower chance of a near-term Bank of Canada rate hike as a result.
